Jews Assailed As C. V. Organ is Confiscated

The C. V. Zeitung, organ of the Centr# Jewish Faith, has been confiscated for having dared compare the treatment accorded Germany at Versailles with Germany’s treatment of the Jews, Der Angriff, organ of Propaganda Minister Paul Joseph Goebbels, reported today.

At the same time Rudolf Hess, deputy leader of the Nazi party and confidential assistant of Adolf Hitler, speaking before a meeting of representatives of foreign chambers of commerce in Germany, declared that the “German nation was not prepared to submit to the boycott without self-defense and unwilling to renounce regulation of internal affairs, which are in accord with the wishes of 95 per cent of the population.”

SEES ATTACK ON HITLER

The C. V. Zeitung article resulted in a bitter attack on the organization by Der Angriff under the heading “How the Jews Use Versailles.” The virulent Nazi sheet declared that the article “was an attack on Chancellor Hitler by insinuation.”

However, officials of the Central Union, denied that they had received any official communication from the Nazi government regarding the confiscation of their central organ.

In addition to Herr Hess, Vice Chancellor von Papen and Franz Seldte, Minister of Labor and leader of the Stahlhelm, war veterans organization, which has just won a victory over the storm troops, addressed the foreign business men.
