All Salonica Jewish newspapers are completely tied up as the result of a 100 per cent printers strike. All attempts by the publishers to issue their papers with the help of non-union help have failed completely. The 60,000 Jews of Salonica are without newspapers and are completely ignorant of world events in the last few days.

The Jewish printers union have announced the publication of an emergency newspaper in Ladino, the language of the Sephardic Jews, which resembles Spanish.

Directors of the Jewish papers l’Action and l’Avolonte are attempting to learn typography so that they may print their papers themselves.
