Formal reopening of the roof playground at P. S. 31, Monroe and Gouverneur streets, on the lower East Side, equipped by community councils with funds raised by the Citizens Summer Playgrounds Committee, is scheduled for this afternoon at 4 o’clock.
Mayor LaGuardia and other prominent city officials are expected to be present as guests of the Lower East Side Community Council to witness a practical demonstration of the supervised play program among underprivileged children, conducted as a part of the program of the community councils of the City of New York.
