Arguments on the appeal to upset the conviction of Abraham Stavsky on the charge of having murdered Dr. Chaim Arlosoroff closed late this afternoon before the Palestine Appeals Court.

Counsel for the prosecution and the defense summed up their arguments. Chief Justice Sir Michael Francis Joseph McDonnell, who presided, announced that the decision of the court would be announced Friday morning. Sitting with the Chief Justice were Justices Baker and de Freitas.

Crowds of Palestinian Jews, anxious to hear the verdict in the case which has agitated Jewish Palestine for more than a year, besieged the building in which the court sessions were being held. In anticipation of the verdict police reinforcements were posted around the building.

DEFENSE SET BACK

The defense suffered a severe setback when the court unanimously agreed to exclude the affidavit submitted by Dr. Eliash in which his client, Abdul Mejid, Arab convict who once confessed to the murder of Dr. Arlosoroff and later withdrew the confession, once more declared that his crony, Issa Darwish, had murdered Dr. Arlosoroff
