Members of the Montreal Trades and Labor Council unanimously adopted a resolution expressing the intention to boycott goods manufactured in Nazi Germany as a means of protesting against the persecution of Jews there.
The motion was proposed by Alderman Joseph Schubert, who declared that the world at large was forced to protest against the manner in which Jews had been treated in Germany under the rule of Chancellor Adolf Hitler.
