R. H. Furness, now director of broadcasting in Egypt is expected to be the new press officer of the Palestine government. Furness was here two years ago as a special commissioner to advise on the introduction of government press methods. He then established the official press bureau.
Furness has been visiting here and has conferred with the chief secretary. It is understood that there has been extensive correspondence between Furness and local authorities with a view to securing his services for Palestine. He has had wide experience in official propaganda.
If he is engaged, he also will be director of broadcasting in Palestine, a post for which preparations are now being made in connection with the erection of the broadcasting and relay station outside Jerusalem.
