A resolution severely censuring the Republican National Committee for reinstating Congressman Louis T. McFadden to a position of leadership in the Republican party despite his public anti-Semitic utterances from the floor of Congress was adopted unanimously tonight at a meeting of the Philadelphia council of the American Jewish Congress.

The resolution denounced McFadden as “an arch-enemy of the Jewish people stooping to falsehood and malicious libel” and described the invitation extended to him to broadcast next Tuesday as “an affront to liberal-minded spirits in America and, more particularly to the American citizens of the Jewish faith.”

The resolution says:

“We view the recognition accorded Congressman Louis T. McFadden, of Pennsylvania, in the national council of the Republican party and the invitation extended him by the Republican National Committee to broadcast next Tuesday as an affront to liberal-minded spirits in America and, more particularly, to the American citizens of the Jewish faith.

“In his public address Congressman McFadden has shown himself to be an arch-enemy of the Jewish people, stooping to falsehood and malacious libel. To achieve his end Congressman McFadden has deliberately revised the fraudulent protocols of the Elders of Zion and abused the privilege of the Congressional Record by giving further circulation to this malicious forgery in the face of public denials by leaders in American Jewry.”
