A demand for the “gleichschaltung” or coordination of German Jews in commerce was voiced today by Die Deutsche Mittelstand, official organ of the Nazi Artisans Association, which declared that now that Dr. Kurt Schmitt was no longer Minister of Economics, such a step, to be carried out “without leniency,” was essential. (The Nazi term “coordination” really means complete ousting of Jews.)
