Following a meeting at City Hall Friday of representatives of the Knit Goods Workers Union and of the employers, Mayor La-Guardia announced that Borough President Raymond V. Ingersoll, of Brooklyn, has been appointed arbitrator in the strike.

Ingersoll will have arbitration powers over all matters except working hours. The strikers and employers decided to settle the question of hours themselves. It is expected that the two warring factions will quickly dispose of the matter of hours and that Ingersoll will effect a speedy settlement.
