The eleventh annual convention of Junior Hadassah will open this morning at the Hotel New Yorker, and continue through Tuesday afternoon. The sessions will be chiefly devoted to reports of the organization’s work in Palestine and this country and plans and budgets will be determined for the coming year.
Social aspects of the convention will include a sight-seeing tour the first night and a formal dance and banquet the following evening. Members of the New York, Brooklyn and Long Island units will act as hostesses.
Among the speakers will be: Robert Szold, Dr. Israel Goldstein, Morris Rothenberg, Mrs. Samuel W. Halprin, Lotta Levensohn, Celia B. Slohm, Frieda Silbert Ullian, Rabbi Jacob J. Weinstein and Rabbi Samuel Wohl.
SISTERHOOD DANCE
The sisterhood of Temple Beth-El of Asbury Park sponsored a dinner dance last Wednesday evening at the Ross Fenton Farms. Mrs. Charles Levisohn headed the arrangements committee, assisted by Mrs. Jonas Tumen.
PLAN BAZAAR IN AUTUMN
The Canarsie Auxiliary of Beth-El Hospital, Brooklyn, which recently established its headquarters at 9725 Farragut road, will support the hospital’s membership drive and hold a bazaar in the fall to augment the institution’s funds, according to Mrs. Gitel Baras, president.
Other officers of the auxiliary are: Mrs. Anna Meyerowitz, vice-president; Mrs. Clara Herman, vice-president; Mrs. Yetta Shin-house, treasurer; Mrs. Gussie Owen, financial secretary; Mrs. Helen Lander, recording secretary, and Mrs. Sarah Naham, sergeant-at-arms.
