No word either in confirmation or contradiction of an interview Ernst F. S. Hanfstaengl reported he had had with William Randolph Hearst has been received at the publisher’s New York offices, executives in the organization’s employ declared Friday.

While doubt was expressed that Hearst actually had said what was attributed to him by the Hitler lieutenant, a cable was dispatched to the newspaper owner, requesting him to make some statement. A reply was being awaited late Friday.
