The Yugoslavian rabbinate today issued a categorical denial of the story that Petrus Kalemen, assassin of King Alexander, was Jewish.
Rumors to this effect led to an ugly situation in Zagreb, chief city of Croatia, where a mob hearing the rumor, gathered and was about to invade the Jewish district. Only prompt intervention by the police prevented serious disorders.
