General Evangeline Booth, international commander of the Salvation Army, will speak at the first rally of the women’s division of the Federation for the support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies on Monday afternoon. The rally will be held at the home of Adolph Lewisohn, 881 Fifth avenue, at 3 o’clock.

More than 1,000 campaign workers already have been enrolled in the Federation’s 1934 emergency appeal. It is expected that the majority of them will attend this rally, the first of a series of rallies to be given by the women’s division during the Federation drive to raise $2,071,000. This is the sum required by the Federation to support the ninety-one charitable institutions affiliated with it.

General Booth’s concern over the problems dealt with by Federation and its ninety-one affiliated organizations is thought to make her presence at the first workers’ rally particularly appropriate. General Booth will be welcomed there by the campaign chairmen of the women’s division, Mrs. Joseph Brettauer and her associate, Mrs. Julius Ochs Adler.
