A general strike of Palestine Arabs was called today by the Palestine Arab Executive. A last minute effort to exert government influence against the strike collapsed when Sir John Chancellor informed the Arab Executive on the day preceding the strike that present regulations at the Wailing Wall must stand until a special commission proposes a new settlement.
