“As long as the DAWA which is a Nazi organization bound closely to the Friends of New Germany, is allowed to hold meetings in the Stevens Hotel, I must protest against such action and therefore withdraw my paintings from the hotel.”

So spoke David Bekker, Chicago artist known as Ben Menachem as he withdrew his paintings today from the exhibit of the Illinois Arts Society now being held in the hotel.
