Five members of the National Front, the Swiss Fascist and anti-Semitic party, have been sent to prison. They broke into a synagogue, defiled several articles and assaulted a Jew.

The representative of the Synagogue “Minian Sfard,” on which the attack was made, stated in court that it did not desire to be a civil party to the action. The young men had clearly been incited by the anti-Semitic writings of the National Front, and he pleaded with the court for leniency, on the ground that they were misled by agitators.

The Counsel who appeared for the principal accused, a young man of twenty-three named Gloor, said that Gloor was now ashamed of what he had done.

Gloor has been sentenced to eighteen months’ hard labor, with two years’ deprivation of his citizen rights. The other four have been sentenced to two to four months, and two to two months’ imprisonment.
