Fakhri Bey Nashashibi is president of the Arab Labor Federation which recently made a decision to launch an anti-Jewish boycott. Picket lines will be formed shortly against Jewish enterprises not employing Arab labor. The decision of the Arabs to boycott Jewish enterprises is a result of the Jewish picketing of Jewish-owned projects that employ Arab labor to the exclusion of Jewish labor.

At the meeting which decided upon the Arab boycott, Fakhri Bey read his recent correspondence with the government concerning Jewish picketing and said that unless the government took drastic measures the Federation ought to form its own pickets and carry on an anti-Jewish boycott. He also read letters from people in various parts of the country urging drastic action against Jewish organizations.

A delegation of the Arab Labor Federation has submitted complaints about Jewish picketing to District Commissioner Ralph Crosbie. The imminence of the orange picking and exporting season, they pointed out, made the situation one of great urgency.

Mr. Crosbie, in his answer, said that the government was fully cognizant of the situation and that thirty Jewish picketeers had already been sentenced by the courts. He asked for a written memorandum from the Arabs.

The date of the launching of the proposed anti-Jewish picket lines will be announced after general meetings are held in Jerusalem, Jaffa and Haifa.
