The Lithuanian government took a hand yesterday in spreading anti-Semitic propaganda ### broadcasting on the official rad###ation anti-Semitic speeches de#vered at the conference of the anti-Jewish Verslas organization which opened here Friday.

The speeches broadcast by the government radio station called on the population of the country to boycott the Jews in every branch of life. The Verslas organization embraces Lithuanian merchants and artisans engaged in competing with Jews and in spreading bitter anti-Semitic agitation throughout the country.

The anti-Semitic movement conducted by the Verslas organization is silently supported by the government, which has fallen under the influence of this organization. The general secretary of the party of which Smetona, the Lithuanian president, is the leader, is also the theoretician and the backbone of the Verslas. The Deputy Minister of Finance is the honorary president of this organization.

The influence of the anti-Semitic Verslas party has reached the point where many law projects are practically dictated to the government by the leaders of the Verslas. As a result of this influence upon the government, anti-Semitic elements have succeeded in inducing the authorities to issue ordinances which will make it impossible for Jews to become lawyers or doctors in the country and which are greatly affecting the entire economic position of the Jewish population.
