A mass meeting of Hungarian students called to protest Yugoslavian allegations contained in a note to the League of Nations was turned into anti-Semitic channels today when they got out of hand and attacked Jewish students, driving them from lecture halls.
The dean of the philosophical faculty and student leaders of the meeting intervened, halting the attacks. They outspokenly condemned the unwarranted outburst against the Jews.
Gates of the University of Budapest were immediately closed on orders of the rector, who prohibited the entry of any but students who could show their identification cards.
