Alexander Troyanovsky, Soviet Ambassador to the United States, returned here today after a visit to Biro-Bidjan where he inspected the Jewish enterprises, including the first Jewish collective farm, Waldheim, and the Jewish theatre.

In a statement to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Troyanovsky expressed his admiration for the achievements reached in Biro-Bidjan.

“The creation of a Jewish autonomous region in the Far East has provoked great interest in America,” the Ambassador stated. “However, what I have seen now with my own eyes in this region has made a tremendous impression upon me. The work of developing the region is only starting. Jewish pioneers are fertilizing the waste and unpopulated territory.”
