some of the victims! The propaganda directed to the German masses had had its effect upon some of the Jews themselves….That was the most depressing aspect of the whole tragic business to me.
And my friend Larry is unknowingly drifting into that same category. He is allowing anti-Jewish propaganda to warp his normally clear mind, in the same way that the chewing-gum and tooth-powder advertisements do.
Being normal human beings with the normal responses to propaganda impacts, we all face the same danger. There never was a moment when there was greater need for the defenses of our pride and our knowledge.
Anything which will deepen Jewish awareness of their achievements as a race, of their roots in a rich and proud history, is desirable. Anything which will show up the anti-Semitic organizations as the “rackets” which they are, which will disclose the anti-Jewish propaganda as the product of darkness and warped minds, is to be welcomed.
Larry knows he is every whit as honest, as ethical, as intelligent, as humanly attractive as his non-Jewish competitors. He—and a million other Larrys must hold fast to that knowledge.
