Q. Kindly give me all information available regarding the Jewish police force that is being recruited for Palestine. Coleman Riese. Bronx, N. Y.

A. A Jew can join the police force in Palestine when he is a Palestinian citizen. At present the number of Jews in the Palestine police force is gradually decreasing because of the low salary paid, which approximates fifty dollars a month. Additional bonuses are paid monthly to the local policemen in Palestine if they master Hebrew and Arabic in addition to English.

Q. What would it cost for a Polish Jew to travel from Poland to Biro-Bidjan and live there for one year? H. G. W. B., Bronx.

A. It is estimated that $150 is required for a Jewish family desiring to migrate from Poland to Biro-Bidjan. This sum brings the family to the Soviet frontier, from where they are transported to Biro-Bidjan by the Soviet authorities free of charge. The settling of the family is taken care of in Biro-Bidjan by the local Soviet. Each family settled must work in a collective and shares the income and the privileges of the collective, including food and shelter.
