The agricultural council of the government of Palestine, an advisory body, today recommended that the government grant loans to the Bedouins of the Beersheba district in order to maintain high crop prices and to enable them to improve their lands.
Sheikhs of the Beersheba district were in Jerusalem recently consulting with Arab leaders, and informed the Arab chiefs that they would be forced to sell their land to Jewish buyers if they did not receive help from Arab sources.
Later it was announced that the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin Effendi Husseini, was negotiating with the Palestine government for a $500,000 loan to buy the land and prevent it from falling into the hands of Jews.
