A pathetic scene was enacted today at the Municipal Hospital, where Mayor Meir Dizengoff lies critically ill.

An aged man, an associate of the mayor in the pioneering days of Palestine, appeared in response to a request for a blood transfusion and volunteered to give his blood that his old friend might have a chance for life.

Mayor Dizengoff, according to physicians attending him, was so critically ill that only a blood transfusion could be of any avail.
