A writing contest on Palestine which will include participants from the United States and Canada was announced yesterday by the B. Manischewitz Company, matzoh firm.
Prizes to the number of 232 will be awarded the writers of best letters of not more than 100 words on “Why Everyone Should Be Interested in the Upbuilding of Palestine.”
Awards include four round trips to the Holy Land and cash prizes ranging from $250 to $5. Books on Palestine, either in English or Yiddish, also will be given. Contestants and grocers will share evenly in all the prizes.
Judges will include David Pinski, Nathan Staus Jr., Dr. Joshua Bloch. Morris Rothenberg, Rabbi Wolf Gold and Ab Goldberg. The contest closes March 1.
