Steps have been, taken by Vaad Leumi for a thorough reorganization of the Jewish Community in Jerusalem, it is understood here.
A financial committee was appointed recently to prepare plans for this purpose. The committee consists of Chaim Solomon, Mr. Braude and Dr. Senator. As a further step in the same direction, Dr. Eugene Mayer has been asked by the Board of the Jewish Community and the Vaad Leumi to prepare a comprehensive scheme for the upbuilding of the Jerusalem community and its institutions.
Dr. Mayer, who settled in Jerusalem about a year ago, has been an active Zionist since his student days and has numerous friends among Jewish residents here.
