Miss Elizabeth N. Baum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Alan Baum of 1010 Fifth avenue, was married to Rabbi Nathan A. Perilman, son of Rev. and Mrs. Jacob Perilman of Wheeling, Va., Friday at noon in the Beth-El Chapel of Temple Emanu-El. The Rev. Dr. Samuel H. Goldenson performed the ceremony in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends.
The bride was escorted by her father, who gave her in marriage. She wore a gown of duchess lace and a tulle veil with a coronet of silver leaves. Her corsage was of gardenias, orchids and lilies of the valley. Mrs. Alan Wieseman, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor.
The ceremony was followed by a luncheon at Sherry’s which only members of the family and close friends attended.
Rabbi Perilman, who has been associated with Congregation Emanu-El for the past three years, had as his best man Rabbi B. Benedict Glazer, also of Congregation Emanu-El. Among the ushers were Manjor Benjamin Harrison Namm, Jerome Lewine and Samuel Berliner Jr.
Rabbi Perilman and his bride will take a West Indies cruise on their wedding trip and on their return will reside at 215 East Seventy-third street.
The marriage of Miss Rhonie Hofheimer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hofheimer of 995 Fifth avenue and Ossining, N. Y., to David Klee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Klee, also of this city, took place Tuesday afternoon in the Corinthian Room of the Hotel Pierre. The Rev. Dr. Jonah B. Wise performed the ceremony.
Miss Marion Hofheimer, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Mrs. Henry Jacobson, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. Leon Klee was best man for his son. A reception, dinner and dance in the main ballroom of the hotel followed the ceremony. After a wedding trip to Bermuda Mr. Klee and his bride will reside at 1140 Fifth avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Goldsmith of Bernardsville, N. J., have announced the marriage of their daughter, Miss Erma Goldsmith, to Daniel L. Strauss, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Moses Strauss of Newark.
The bride is a graduate of Swarthmore College and attended Yale University Graduate School.
Mr. Strauss is a graduate of the New York University Law School and was an ensign in the United States Naval Reserve in the World War. He is a member of the New Jersey bar.
Miss Jennie Jelin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Jelin of 51 River road, New Brunswick, N. J., and Edward I. Furman, vice-president of the Macaulay Company, book publishers of this city, were married Tuesday night at the Jewish Center, 131 West Eighty-sixth street. Rabbi Leo Jung officiated.
Following the ceremony a reception and dance were held in the ballroom of the Center.
The bride is a niece of Abraham Jelin, former member of the Highway Commission of New Jersey. She was graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with the degree of bachelor of science, and from Columbia University with the master of arts degree. Mr. and Mrs. Furman will sail soon for an extended trip through Europe.
