The most active elements fomenting anti-Jewish feeling in Algiers are Nazi propagandists from Germany, it is reported in the press here today.
The tense atmosphere in Algeria is becoming a matter of grave concern to the French government. A special meeting of the French Cabinet was held today to discuss the Algerian problem. It was decided that the Premier himself would deal with the Moslem situation in Algeria.
In an article by ex-Premier Edouard Daladier in a local newspaper, a warning is sounded against the growing religious tension in North Africa and urgent measures are demanded to prevent dangerous consequences. The ex-Premier points out in his article that the tension between the various religious groups is not entirely due to the economic situation. He believes that it is due more to the anti-Jewish propaganda conducted there by agents of other countries.
