It is an insult to call a person “Jew” even if it is proven that he is of Jewish origin, a court in Koenigsberg ruled yesterday.
The ruling was issued against the Nazi district leader Otto Raatz, who expressed doubt as to the “Aryan” origin of Dr. Seraphim, a journalist. He called the German journalist “Jew” and was forthwith sued for libel by Dr. Seraphim.
The court yesterday imposed a fine of sixty marks on the Nazi district leader, explaining that he had no right to call anyone “Jew” without having first investigated his origin. Dr. Seraphim submitted evidence that he is a pure “Aryan.”
Dr. Grimm, Nazi attorney, sent to Cairo to defend Nazis there in a trial brought by local Jewish leaders for disseminating anti-Jewish propaganda, was received today by Hitler. The German Chancellor thanked the Nazi lawyer for handling the case “in the interests of Germany” and for succeeding in getting it thrown out of court.
