raising the necessary funds in America to help prospective Jewish settlers from Poland and other East European countries to cover travelling and other initial expenses connected with their emigration to Biro-Bidjan from their native lands. The committee attempts also to facilitate in every possible manner the emigration and the settlement in Biro-Bidjan of such Jews. The headquarters of the committee are at 285 Madison Ave., New York.
The memorandum submitted by the committee to the Soviet Ambassador is signed by William W. Cohen, former member of the Congress who is chairman of the committee, Edward I. Arnow is the executive secretary. The other members include Dr. Marcus Nadler, professor of finance, Dr. Jacob Lippman, Dean of the School of Agriculture, Rutgers University, Prof. Frank Harris, president of Brigham Young University, Dr. Jules Bogen, editor of the Journal of Commerce, George Gordon Battle, Waldo Frank and Harry Elmer Barnes and others.
