Liquor Stores to Give 5% of Sales to Appeal

Following the example of the city’s restaurateurs who gave five per cent of their gross receipts Wednesday to the United Jewish Appeal, the retail liquor stores of the five boroughs of Greater New York will contribute to the Appeal five per cent of the sales made today in all these stores. The associations sponsoring “Liquor Day” include: Long Island Wine and Liquor Dealers, Greater New York Retail Dealers, Bronx Wine and Liquor Retail Stores, Federated Retail Liquor Dealers of Kings County and Westchester Retail Liquor Stores.
