Yesterday marked the first anniversary of the death of Chaim Nachman Bialik, the Jewish national poet. According to the Jewish calendar, however, the anniversary is the twenty-first day of Tammuz, which falls this year on July 22.

The executive of the World Zionist Organization in London has addressed a proclamation to its branches throughout the world, asking them to dedicate the day to Bialik’s memory. The proclamation calls for observance of the anniversary with public meetings.

In connection with the anniversary, a campaign for funds will be launched and the receipts used for Hebrew cultural and educational work.
