Solemn ceremonies marking the installation of Dr. Victor Puiu Visarion as Archbishop of Bukovina were marred today by an anti-Semitic incident of which the victim was Chief Rabbi Dr. Jakob Niemirower of Bucharest, an invited guest.
The incident was precipitated by the Cuzist Deputy Robu when he attempted to bar Rabbi Niemirower from attending the banquet in the new Archbishop’s honor.
As a result, Rabbi Niemirower was forced to leave the banquet. Other Jewish guests immediately left in protest.
