Carl Laemmle, retiring head of Universal Pictures Corp., will sail for Europe on the Queen Mary tomorrow and visit Palestine in February, he announced last night at a United Palestine Appeal dinner in his honor at the Waldorf-Astoria attended by more than 400 leaders in the film industry and public life. Speakers were Judge Julian W. Mack, Major Henry J. Proctor, British member of Parliament; William A. Brady, Nathan Straus, Gene Buck, Louis Nizer, Judge Jonah Goldstein and Harry Hershfield, who presided. President Roosevelt sent a message felicitating Mr. Laemmle.
