Ludwig Lewisohn, the author, announced in a letter to Morris Rothenberg made public today that he supports him for re-election as president of the Zionist Organization of America. The New England Zionist Region, of which Dr. Lewisohn was elected vice-president at its convention yesterday, adopted a resolution in support of Dr. Stephen S. Wise.

Dr. Lewisohn said in his letter: “I now hear on good authority that you are not unwilling to run again. Under these circumstances there seems no need to add this to Dr. Wise’s multifarious and crushing responsibilities and I want to assure you again…of my unqualified endorsement and support.”

The Rabbinical Assembly of the Jewish Theological Seminary of American made public a resolution adopted by its executive council at a special meeting declaring that Dr. Wise’s election “would be detrimental to the best interest” of the Z.O.A. and urged election of a president “who will lead us in harmony and retain for Zionism the loyalty and friendships which have been built up through a whole generation of indefatigable labor.”
