Damascus Jew Beaten for Refusing Strike Donation

Arab merchants today rescued David Toach, prominent Jewish banker, from a band of Arab Nationalists who were cruelly beating him for refusing to contribute $250 to the Arab general strike in Palestine.

In the ensuing fight between the attackers and the Jewish banker’s rescuers, one Arab was stabbed to death and three injured.
