Dear Hayom, Hebrew daily, reports today that temporary stoppage of immigration and creation of an “autonomous legislature” are among four proposals being considered in official circles to pacify the troubled Holy Land.

The number of Jews and Arabs in the country at the present time, the paper states, is to be taken is a basis for future negotiations. (there are more than 375,000 Jews and about 800,000 Arabs in Palestine.)

Constant control of Jewish immigration by an elected committee of Jews and Arabs is the fourth proposal, according to the paper. The committee will decide on immigration schedules on the basis of Government statistics.
