Taking an estimated 73 per cent loss, Jewish capitalists have this week transferred abroad about five million marks, banking circles estimated today.

Anticipation of new difficulties for Jews after the Olympics is credited in informed quarters with motivating the transfers which have been accomplished with the permission of the authorities through the Reichsbank. No obstacles have been placed in the way of the capital flight in view of the tremendous Government profits from the transactions.

German newspapers today reported that Bavarian Jews alone have exported twelve million marks between Reichsfuehrer Hitler’s accession and the beginning of 1936. Most of this sum has gone to Palestine, with the United States the second largest receiver. No figures are available for the rest of the Reich.

The Frankfurter Zeitung, in an article headlined “Reichs Citizenship Is the Basis for Retail Trading,” foresee the beginning of the elimination of Jews from retailing.

The paper reports the Reichsministry of Finance has issued instructions that newly-married “Aryan” couples must spend their marriage loans only in stores owned by Reich citizens. (Jews were disfranchised by the Nuremberg laws passed by the Reichstag last September 15.)

The order does not affect stores owned by persons of foreign citizenship.
