Assailing him as a “young blackguard,” Magistrate Herbert Metcalfe in Old-street Court today fined a Fascist forty shillings (about $10) for pelting yesterday’s anti-Fascist parade and ordered him to put up ten pounds (about $50) as surety that he will keep the peace for one year.

In passing sentence, Mr. Metcalfe, who on previous similar occasions has been outspoken in condemnation of Fascist methods of intimidation, declared:

“It’s perfectly disgraceful that young blackguards like you should be going around disturbing the peace in this fashion. So far as I can, I shall do all in my power to stop this kind of thing.”
