The authorities will not renew the licenses of Jewish rag-dealers and rag-pickers because Jews are “not sufficiently reliable,” it was announced today in Der Angriff, Thousands of Jews are expected to loss their livelihood as result of the order.
The paper said there were at least 5,000 rag-dealers and 30,000 rag-pickers in Germany, of whom the majority were Jews. The decision to “Aryanize” the trade was made because of its importance in supplying raw material to German industry, the Angriff explained.
