Joachim von Ribbentrop, new German Ambassador to Great Britain, committed a blunder in declaring Anglo-German cooperation should be based on the defense of “our civilization and culture against Communism,” the newspaper Le Temps declared in an editorial today, according to the Havas News Agency.

“The English people does not believe it should choose between Communism and Fascism but stands by the doctrine which responds best to its own temperament and distrusts in equal measure Fascist, Nazi or proletarian dictatorships,” Le Temps said.
