The Arab Supreme Committee announced today it will boycott the hearings of the British Royal Commission, en route here to open an inquiry on Nov. 12 into the Arab disorders.
In a manifesto, the Arab leaders stated the step was taken because of the action of the British Colonial Office in announcing yesterday a Jewish labor immigration schedule of 1,800 certificates in the face of Arab demands for suspension of immigration.
The six-man commission, headed by Lord Peel, left London yesterday and will come to Jerusalem via Marseille. It is empowered to inquire into the recent disturbances, and the Arabs’ and Jews’ grievances.
