Herman Speier, who recently returned from Rumania, in his report as executive secretary to a convention of the United Rumanian Jews in America, held at the Hotel Astor, stressed today the necessity of Jewish organizations in America to unite with the Jews of Europe in a joint plan of action to stem the influx of Hitlerism in Rumania.

“The only salvation for the Jews against a Nazi-dominated Rumania lies in assistance from the governments of Paris, London and Washington and the continued opposition to Nazi racialism by the press of the powerful democratic nations,” he said.

Recounting an interview he had with Premier Tatarescu, Mr. Speier said he had promised to take measures to halt anti-Semitic agitation, but that in the succeeding two weeks nothing was done to curb the anti-Semitic press.
