Spectator, Conservative weekly, predicted that the intensified anti-Jewish campaign being conducted by the Nazi press in Germany in connection with the recent trial of David Frankfurter for the murder of Wilhelm Gustloff, Nazi leader in Switzerland, will bear fruit.
“It is alarming to conjecture what kind of expiation Germany may demand,” the weekly said, “since it considers the Davos crime not yet expiated,” adding that the threats of the Nazi press were a direct provocation to persecution of Jews in the Reich.
