A synagogue in Haifa was bombed today in a continuation of scattered violence. The blast smashed the door and broke windows. A water pipe was destroyed in another explosion near Saris.

Several Arab leaders and one tribal chieftain were arrested for complicity in the murder of Dr. Joseph Lehr, lone Jewish resident of Beisan, the Havas News Agency reported.

The roundup indicated that a secret terrorist band was behind the murder.

Shots were fired at a group of seven Jews, including three supernumerary policemen, as they left a railway station and walked toward Kfar Chassidim. One of the men was slightly wounded.
