Dr. Marcel Handelsman, of Warsaw University, noted Polish Jewish historian, has been elected a member of the French Academy of Moral and Political Science in succession to Rudyard Kipling.
Dr. Handelsman was born in 1882. He has been professor of history at Warsaw University since 1915 and editor of Przeglad Polityczny (Political Review) since 1924. He is a member of the Society of Sciences and Polish Academy, corresponding member of the Paris Academy, President of the Polish Society for International Affairs, Dean of the Faculty of Letters at Warsaw University.
Dr. Handelsman’s works include studies on Napoleon and the influence of French political ideas on Poland.
