Prof. J. Benoliel, former Professor of French Literature at Lisbon University, died today at the age of 79. He translated into Hebrew the episodes, “Lusiadas,” by Camoens, Portugal’s master poet, and translated into Portuguese “Zion,” by Judah Halevy, noted Hebrew poet of medieval Spain.
