Jewish Co-operative Bank in Palestine Increases Capital

The paid up capital of the Palestine Kupat-Am Bank Cooperative Society, Ltd., of Tel Aviv, with branches in Jerusalem, Haifa and Hadar Hacarmel, one of the biggest cooperative banks in the country, was increased last year by £3,015 to £34,280, including a special reserve of £4,000 as compared with £37,636. The Bank’s capital thus amounts to £83,065, compared with £68,902 at the end of 1935.

Deposit accounts show a slight decline by £3,000 to £149,601; current accounts, on the other hand, increased in 1936 from £350,000 to £377,430, bringing the total amount of deposits up to £527,035, compared with £502,390 in 1935.
