2-hour Strike Marks Protest; 14 Seized in Warsaw

Jews throughout Poland held a two-hour protest strike today over the May 13 pogrom in Brzesc in which more than fifty Jews were wounded.

All Jewish shops, factories, offices, cafes and restaurants were closed between the hours of twelve and two p.m. Two demonstrations marred the strike in Nalewki, Warsaw’s Jewish quarter, resulted in the arrests of about fourteen persons. Police dispersed demonstrators who shouted slogans condemning anti-Semitism.

The strike was reported successfully executed in Wilno, Cracow, Lwow, Lodz and other large cities.
