Lithuanian Minister Expresses Hope for Jewish State

INTERIOR MINISTER JULIUS CAPLIKAS, CONGRATULATING THE LITHUANIAN JEWS ON THE HEBREW NEW YEAR, EXPRESSED THE WISH TODAY FOR THE UPBUILDING OF A JEWISH STATE. HE CONVEYED SPECIAL CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LITHUANIAN JEWS IN AMERICA. THE EDUCATION MINISTRY HAS ALLOCATED 148,000 LITS (ABOUT $25,000) TO SUBSIDIZE JEWISH SCHOOLS DURING THE COMING SCHOOL YEAR. THE ORT VOCATIONAL INSTITUTE WILL RECEIVE $5,000 FROM THIS FUND.
